　症例は67歳，男性。両側腎細胞癌にて1992年両側腎摘除術を行い，血液透析導入となった。2001年左肺腫瘍を摘出し，腎細胞癌肺転移と診断された。2003年7月左肺に腫瘍陰影を認め，腎細胞癌の転移と考え，スミフェロン^®300万IUを投与した。腫瘍縮小効果を認めず，発熱の苦痛に耐えられず，2004年11月投与中止とした。2005年2月腫瘍の増大と新たな出現を認め，OIF^®500万IUを投与したところ，腫瘍の縮小，消退および発熱の軽減を認めた。

　A 67-year-old man was referred to our department for a nodular lesion in the left lung. He had been on hemodialysis since bilateral nephrectomy for bilateral renal cell carcinoma（RCC）performed 11 years ago, and two years ago undergone partial lobectomy for a metastasis of RCC in the left lung. Assuming the lung lesion should be metastasis of RCC, injection of three millions international units of a natural interferon-alpha, Sumiferon^®, once a week was started. It was discontinued, however, 16 months later because of intolerable fever and fatigue associated with injection. The lesion progressed during three months after discontinuation, thus injection therapy was resumed using a different natural interferon-alpha, OIF^®. The alternative interferon was better tolerated and efficacious in reducing the size of metastatic lesion. Meanwhile he lost the general health condition due to arteriosclerosis obliterans and died eight months after initiation of the second injection therapy.（Rinsho Hinyokika 61：749-752, 2007）
