緒言

　口蓋扁桃に発生する悪性腫瘍は，そのほとんどが，原発性であり，転移性扁桃腫瘍は極めて稀で，本邦において文献上の検索できた範囲では，16例にすぎない。

　今回われわれは，肺癌（large cell carcinoma）より口蓋扁桃に転移した症例を経験したので，臨床経過並びに剖検所見を報告するとともに，口蓋扁桃への転移性腫瘍について若干の文献的考察を加える。

A mass in the pharynx was detected in a 50-year-old male being treated for lung carcinoma (large cell type). Biopsy showed large cell carcinoma. A diagnosis of metaststic tumor was made as the histological picutre corresponded with that of the primary tumor of the lung. ⁶⁰Co radiation, chemo-therapy and immunotherapy resulted in a reduc-tion of the size of the tonsillar tumor, however patient became cachectic and died after 3 months. The clinical findings of tonsillar me-tastasis reported in Japan are reviewed.
