　はじめに

　高齢化社会の到来によりわれわれの取り扱う耳鼻咽喉・頭頸部領域においても重複癌が増加してきているが^1〜3），ときにその対応に苦慮する場合がある。重複癌の報告は，従来から癌センターや大学病院など比較的癌患者の多い施設からのものが多かったが，近年当院のような市中病院でも数多くみられるようになった。今回，当院で経験した頭頸部重複癌に関し，同時性重複癌に対する治療方針および異時性重複癌に対する術後の経過観察方法などを検討した。

Among 103 patients with head and neck cancers treated at our clinic from 1996 to 1998, 13 patients (13%) also had primary multiple cancers. Hetero-chronous multiple cancers were more common thansynchronous ones as reported before.

In the view of the second cancer involvement, primary multiple cancers in the head and neck were found in the upper digestive tracts such as the esophagus and stomach. We described clinical courses of three patients who had another primary cancers found during the treatment of cancer in the head and neck. Cooperation with radiation on-cologists, general surgeons and physicians in the related fields is mandatory to treat such cases of primary multiple cancers found simultaneously.
