　はじめに

　聴器癌は，その発生頻度の低さおよび解剖学的特殊性から早期診断や治療が困難とされている。今回われわれは，自治医科大学附属病院耳鼻咽喉科を受診し治療した聴器原発の悪性腫瘍症例について，治療法ならびに予後に関して検討し若干の知見を得たので，文献的考察を加えて報告する。

Twenty-one cases with malignant ear tumors in the period from 1975 to 1995 at Jichi Medical School Hospital were presented.

The patients were classified into two groups as“extensive type” and “localized type”. The cases with the tumor extending to the internal carotid artery or the styloid process were classified as the “extensive type”, and the others were “localized type”. The five-year cumulative survival rate calcu-lated by Kaplan-Meier's method was 0% in the “extensive type” and 90% in the “localized type”. This suggests a necessity for deciding the surgical indication more carefully for the “extensive type”.
