　はじめに

　カルチノイド腫瘍は，主に消化管または気管や気管支に発生する腫瘍で，中耳に発生することは稀である。われわれは，中耳に原発し外耳道入口部まで進展のみられた，稀なカルチノイド腫瘍の1症例を経験したので若干の文献的考察を加えて報告する。

A rare case of carcinoid tumor in the middle ear extending to the external auditory canal was report-ed. Histopathological examinations of the biopsied specimens revealed carcinoid tumor. Immunohisto-chemically, the tumor cells were positive for chromogranin and the ultrastructural findings by electron microscopy demonstrated many neurose-cretory granules in the cytoplasm of the tumor. Typical symptoms of carcinoid syndrome and bio-chemically active substances in blood and urine were not observed in this patient. Tympanoplasty and mastoidectomy for total removal of the tumor were performed. No recurrence of the tumor was observed for one year after the surgery.
