　はじめに

　エナメル上皮腫は，歯原性腫瘍のなかでは比較的発生頻度の高い腫瘍であり，下顎に多く発現するが，上顎に発現することは稀といわれている。

　われわれは上顎洞の嚢胞として発症したエナメル上皮腫の1症例を経験したので若干の文献的考察を加えて報告する。

A case of ameloblastoma in the maxillary sinus in a 38-year-old female is reported. She had com-plained of a swelling of her left cheek for four years. Radiographic examination showed a cystic lesion growing expansive in the left maxillary sinus with thinning of bony sinus wall. Surgery for the cyst was performed and the pathological findings of the excised tissue revealed ameloblastoma. Ameloblas-toma often recurs postoperatively and might change malignant, so that an additional surgery with total removal of the tumor was conducted. No recurrence of the tumor was observed two years after the surgery.
