　はじめに

　頭頸部悪性腫瘍の治療において，抗癌剤の局所動注療法は広く普及した治療法である^1）。薬剤注入の方法として，当科では従来より留置したカテーテルの先端を体外に露出させ，滅菌ガーゼで保護する方法をとってきた。しかし，この方法は入浴や洗髪の問題をはじめ，日常生活上多くの制約を伴う。このような患者の負担を軽減する目的で，皮下埋め込み式リザーバー（以下：リザーバー）を1989年に動注留置材料として採用し，その手技を報告した^2）。その後の3年7ヵ月間に本法を11例に応用したので，術式，注意点などを含めた使用経験を報告する。

To improve the patient's quality of daily life during intra-arterial chemotherapy for head and neck malignant tumors, subcutaneous implanta-tions of a whole infusion catheter and reservior was performed in 11 patients. Ten of the patients received intra-arterial chemotherapy with no limitation in daily life. Daily care of the reser-viors was easy, but one patient with severe dia-betes suffered from infection of the reservior im-plantation area. Reservior implantation is very useful for performing comfortable intra-arterial chemotherapy, both from the patient's and the doctor's side, when indication is applied carefully.
