不幸な転帰をとった幼児気道内異物の2症例—初期治療ガイドラインの提案—

Two Cases of Foreign Bodies in the Airways of Infants with Miserable Clinical Courses: Consideration on the Life-saving Maneuver

I．はじめに

　われわれは異物除去そのものには成功したものの不幸な転帰をとった幼児気道内異物症例を2例経験したので，その臨床経過を紹介するとともに気道内異物に対する処置に関する若干の文献的考察を加えて報告する。

Two cases of foreign bodies in the airway of infants with miserable clinical courses were pre-sented.

The first case was an one-year and nine-month -old boy, whose oro-hypopharynx was completely obstructed by rice cake "mochi". The foreign body was extracted but he died three days later.

The other case was a two-year and two-month-old boy, whose foreign body was a hairpin of unusual shape in his trachea. The hairpin was removed successfully but hypoxic brain damage left him in severe mental deficiency, epilepsy and tube feeding state.

We reviewed the experimental data on the maneuvers; back blow, chest thrust and abdomi-nal thurst, and discussed the guidelines for emer-gency airway obstruction.
