頸部に発生したガス形成菌感染症の1例

A Case of Gas Forming Infection in the Neck

I．はじめに

　ガス形成菌感染症は従来から「ガス壊疽」として知られ，急速な病状の進展をみるために医師や一般の人びとに恐れられているが，頸部に起こることは非常に稀である。われわれは高齢の男性で副咽腔間隙膿瘍に伴い頸部にガス形成菌感染症を生じ，治療の効なく気腫発生後2日で死亡した症例を経験したので報告するとともに，若干の考察を加え諸兄の御批判を仰ぎたい。

A 88-year-old male developed gas forming infec-tion in the neck. In spite of our intensive care, antibiotics, drainage, steroid, the patient died two days after admission. Culture of the neck abscess grew out Seratia marcescence, Enterococcus sp., Ps. aeruginosa, anaerobic gram-negative cocci and rods. The causative micro-organism of gas forming infection in the neck was considered to be gas forming anaerobic bacteria. Early diagnosis, good drainage and the choice of effective antibiotics are stressed.
