はじめに

　当科では，1989年より現在まで頭頸部扁平上皮癌の術前治療として外照射による放射線を基本とし，抗癌薬投与を併用する集学的治療を行ってきた^1）。2004年までは導入化学療法（induction chemotherapy：ICT）で，2005年からは化学放射線療法（concurrent chemoradiotherapy：CCRT）を取り入れ，必要な症例には手術を行っている。この治療方針は舌扁平上皮癌（舌癌）でも変わりはない。一方，現在では特にStage Ⅰ，Ⅱの早期舌癌の原発巣においては，多くの施設で手術単独の治療指針が採られている。

　本検討は，われわれの治療方針による舌癌治療の成績を解析し，他施設の報告と比較することによって舌癌の最良の治療法を模索することが目的である。

　For 22 years since 1989 we had treated 30 cases of tongue squamous cell carcinoma as a comprehensive manner with radiation（median 46 Gy）, chemotherapy（ICT or CCRT）followed by surgery. In this issue we analysed survival rates and recurrence of the cases. As the result compared to the other reports, there were no significant statistical differences on 5-year cause-specific survival rates in Stage Ⅰ, Ⅱ and Ⅲ, on the other hand in Stage Ⅰ and Ⅱ frequency of local-regional recurrence were significantly less than those with surgery alone on primary lesion in our series. No severe radiation complications developed in our patients.
