Ⅰ.はじめに

　神経鞘腫は頭頸部領域では比較的多くみられる腫瘍で，神経鞘腫のうち約42％は頭頸部に発生するといわれている^1）。頭頸部での好発部位には側頸部，耳下腺，頰部，舌，咽頭などがある。神経鞘腫は筋肉内に発生することがあるが，咬筋内の神経鞘腫の発生は非常に稀である。われわれの渉猟し得た範囲では，日本では過去7例の報告があり，小児例は海外を含め1例の報告があるのみである^1～4）。

　今回われわれは右咬筋内に発生し，鑑別に苦慮した小児の神経鞘腫の1例を経験したので，若干の文献的考察を加えて報告する。

　Schwannoma is often seen in the head-and-neck resion, but intramuscular schwannoma is rare. We reported intramasseteric schwannoma in a 12-year-old girl. The tumor was enucleated without neurological deficit nor postoperative sequelae. Preoperative diagnosis of schwannoma is difficult due to the presence of cystic degeneration and hypocellular lesion. As schwannoma does not show spontaneous regression, excision is recommended before it increases in size and causes neural disturbances. During surgery, we must pay attention to the facial nerve, which often passes near the tumor.
