　1992〜1995年の4年間に，裂孔原性網膜剥離に対する初回手術として硝子体手術が選択された105眼を対象として，その適応と手術成績について検討した。裂孔原性網膜剥離に対する初回手術に占めた硝子体手術の割合は23％であり，年々増加傾向にあった。硝子体手術の適応となった症例は深部裂孔網膜剥離（50眼）が最も多く，次いで黄斑円孔網膜剥離（23眼），増殖性硝子体網膜症（10眼）などであった。初回手術での網膜復位は90眼（86％）に得られ，最終的に100眼（96％）が復位した。適切な硝子体手術適応の決定と，慎重な術後の経過観察が重要であると思われた。

We reviewed a consecutive series of 105 eyes with rhegmatogenous retinal detachment treated by vitrectomy only during the foregoing 4 years. These cases comprised 23% of rhegmatogenous retinal detachment treated during the same period. Vitrectomy was performed for retinal detachments with breaks located posterior to the equator (50 eyes) , those due to macular hole (23 eyes) , proliferative vitreoretinopathy (10 eyes) and others. Retinal reattachment was achieved in 90 eyes (86%) initially and in 100 eyes (96%) after repeated surgeries.
