　円孔が自然閉鎖し，視力が改善した外傷性黄斑円孔の2症例を報告した。症例1は11歳男性。右眼をサッカーボールで打撲した。初診時には円孔はみられなかったが，1か月後に発生した。4か月後には自然閉鎖し，視力は裸眼1.2に改善した。OCT検査にて，円孔発生時に黄斑部に浮腫と網膜全層円孔を認め，円孔が徐々に縮小して閉鎖する経過を観察し得た。症例2は24歳男性。右眼を野球ボールで打撲した。初診時に黄斑部に裂隙を認めたが，受傷1か月後には閉鎖し，視力は矯正0.7に改善した。外傷性黄斑円孔はときとして自然閉鎖するので，手術適応と時期については考慮すべきである。OCT検査は円孔の発生，閉鎖の過程の観察に有用であった。

An 11-year-old boy was hit by a soccer ball in his right eye. The affected eye showed concussion retinopathy when seen on the following day. A macular hole was detected one month after the incident. Optical coherence tomography (OCT) confired the diagnosis. It underwent spontaneous closure 3 months later with improved visual acuity from 0.4 to 1.2. Another 24-year-old male was hit by a baseball in his right eye. The affected eye showed a tiny tear in the fovea when seen 10 days later. The tear underwent spontaneous closure one month later with improved visual acuity from 0.2 to 0.7. These two cases illustrate that traumatic macular hole may heal spontaneously and that OCT may be useful in the diagnosis and follow-up of such cases.
