（B2-1-18）　両眼同時白内障手術の安全性と問題点を，自験例79例について検討した。全例に他の眼合併症はなく，年齢は45〜92歳，平均76歳であった。点眼麻酔による耳側角膜小切開手術を行い．折り曲げ型眼内レンズを挿入した。重篤な合併症の発生はなく，術後視力と術後炎症は片眼手術とほぼ差がなく，良好な結果が得られた。両眼同時白内障手術は，今後の白内障手術の選択肢のひとつになり得ると思われた。

We reviewed a series of 79 cases who received simultaneous bilateral cataract surgery to assess the safetyand problems of this procedure. The cases were free of other eye disorders. The ages ranged from 45 to 92 years, average76years. A foldable intraocular lens was inserted following instillation anesthesia and temporal small-incision. Complica-tions of significance were consistently absent. The postoperative visual acuity and inflammation were comparable withthose following unilateral surgery. Simultaneous bilateral cataract surgery may be a procedure of choice when properlyplanned and executed.
