　網膜症発現前の若年糖尿病患者31名（平均年齢14.7±3.0歳）31眼（糖尿病群）と同年代の正常者14名14眼（正常群）に対しフルオロフォトメトリーを行った。フルオレセイン静注前後の眼内螢光測定値をもとに解析を行い，血液眼内柵透過性機能，硝子体内拡散係数，および水晶体自然螢光値を指標として両群間を比較検討した。その結果，正常群と比較して糖尿病群では，水晶体自然螢光値が有意に高く，また，血液房水柵と血液網膜柵両者の透過性が有意に亢進していることが明らかとなった。また，これらの変化は，硝子体ゲルに変化が認められる前に生じている可能性が示唆された。

We performed vitreous fluorophotometery in 31 eyes of 31 juvenile diabetics. The ages averaged 14.7±3.0 years. All the eyes were free of manifest diabetic retinopathy. Another series of 14 eyes of 14 age-matched normal subjects served as control. Autofluorescence of the crystalline lens was signifi-cantly greater in the diabetics than in controls (p＜ 0.01). The diabetic group showed higher values for both blood-aqueous barrier permeability index and the inward permeability coefficient of the blood -retinal barrier than in controls (p＜0.05, p＜0.01 respectively). The diffusion coefficient of fluores-cein in the vitreous was almost identical in the two groups.
