　膠様滴状角膜変性症の異常が，角膜および輪部上皮にあるとの立場から，本疾患に対する新しい角膜移植法（全周輪部結膜切除＋全角膜表層切除＋表層角膜移植＋周辺部角膜上皮形成術）を考案した。今回，この新しい手術法を行い，2年以上，平均3.2年の経過観察が行えた7例7眼の手術成績を報告した。7例中，1例に部分的な再発を見ただけで，矯正視力も全例で改善した。これまでの表層角膜移植術のみの手術予後と比較すると，病変再発は著明に抑制されていた。本手術法は，膠様滴状角膜変性症に対する外科的治療として有用である。

From the point of view that gelatinous drop-like corneal dystrophy occurs based on epithelial abnor-mality, we developed a new surgical procedure consisting of perilimbal total conjunctival resec-tion, total superficial keratactomy, lamellar ker-atoplasty, and peripheral keratoepithelioplasty. The strategy of this particular surgery is to remove any abnormal cells of corneal epithelial lineage and to introduce normal corneal epithelial cells instead. Seven patients underwent this surgery and were followed up for at least 2 years. Recurrence was observed only in one patient four and a half years after the operation. We believe that this surgical procedure resulted in much better outcome as compared with lamellar keratoplasty alone
