　水晶体嚢内摘出術後の角膜内皮細胞面積の変化は，術後のコルチコステロイド剤局所投与，消炎酵素剤内服と相関せず，手術時の機械的刺激によりのみ影響をうけるものと推定される。

We evaluated the corneal endothelial cells in 56 eyes by means of contact specular photomicro-graphy prior to and 1, 3, 6, 9, 12 and 15 weeks after intracapsular lens extraction. The findings were analyzed by dividing the eyes into groups in order to evaluated the possible influences of postsurgical medications including topical dexamethasone, topi-cal gentamicin sulfate, subconjunctival dexame-thasone and oral proteolytic enzyme (Seaprose S). Measurements of individual endothelial cell size were performed by means of a digitizer interfaced to a microcomputer.
