　私が行つている鞏膜切除術は，すべて部分層切除lamellar sclerectomyであり，それも昭和31年1月から同33年12月までの3ヵ年間に26眼しか行つていないので，このような少数でとやかく言うのは私自身にとつても不満足ではあるが，当教室で本手術に関する動物実験を行つていることでもあるので（千羽淳），その成績の一，二をも併せてこの機会に追加したいと思う。

It was reported that by the lamellar sclerectomy for retinal detachment successful repo-sitions were observed in 16 out of 26 eyes operated upon (61.5 percent). The width of the resection was usually 1.5—2mm. and the length of it was 20—30mm. Interrupted sutu-res of 0000 or 00000 catgut were placed at 2mm. intervals, but in the area previously subjected to diathermy matress sutures. Several diathermy needle punctures were made through the area of the resection, in addition to the area where retinal tears located. No scleral unfolding occered probably.
