緒言

　Adaptinolは暗順応機転を促進改善し，各種夜盲症に対して効果があると云われているが，本剤服用により血液その他組織にどの様な変化が現われるかは全く判つていない。私共は本剤服用後の血中Luteinの変化を検索し，二，三興味ある知見を得たので報告しようと思う。

The lutein level in the blood after the administration of Adaptinol was measured and the following conclusions were drawn.

In the healthy adults after the administration of Adaptinol, the lutein level in the blood increased, reaching a certain level, and remaind there for a considerable period of time. Dark adaptation in the normal eyes improved with the increase in the lutein level.

The administration of Adaptinol in animals caused a marked increases in the amount of lutein in the liver as well as in the blood. This result suggests that absorbed Adaptinol is stored in the liver.
