緒言

　脈絡膜，硝子体および網膜下出血は，網膜下液排除に伴つて生じうる重篤な合併症である^1）。この出血の頻度を減少させるべく，手術上二つの新しい方法について述べる。その一つは脈絡膜血管を明瞭に観察するための透視法（transillumina—tion）であり，他の一つは小さな脈絡膜血管を閉鎖するための脈絡膜ジアテルミー凝固法である。

1) In order to reduce the risk of hemorrhage, transillumination of the choroid and choroi-dal diathermy should be indispensalbe steps in the technique of drainage of subretinal fluid.

2) The vortex ampulla, vortex vein, and large vortex vein tributaries can be revealed through the sclera by transillumination so that they can be avoided when selecting a site for the sclerotomy. Small blood vessels exposed by the sclerotomy may be identified using magnification and transillumination.
