Ocular Symptoms of Ectopic Pinealoma in the Chiasmal Region

緒言

　異所性松果体腫はわが国でもまれな疾患とされ^{2）5）〜8）10）11）14）}，脳外科領域からの報告は次第に増加しているが^{1）3）4）9）13）15）}，眼科領域からの研究はほとんどなされていない^{5）11）18）}。

　本症のTriasはKageyama and Belsky^6）によれば，尿崩症，脳下垂体前葉機能低下と視機能障害といわれ，その診断は困難でないともいわれているが，頭蓋咽頭腫，脳下垂体腫瘍など視交叉部腫瘍との鑑別診断は眼所見だけからは容易ではない。

Eye symptoms were studied in 6 cases of pi-nealoma in the chiasmal region which was veri-fied histopathologically following craniotomy.

Decrease in vision was seen in 4 cases and temporal hemianopsia was detected in all cases except one case in which consciousness level was too low to measure the visual acuity and field.

It was interesting to note that pallor of the disc was not conspicuous when they were first seen, although optic atrophy developed slowly in 5 cases.

Diabetes insipidus and hypopituitarism were present as initial symptoms in all cases and more remarkable in severity than in craniopha-ryngioma.
