緒言

　超音波を使用して眼内病変を診断する試孜は多数の研究者によりなされており，網膜剥離，眼内腫瘍等の補助診断法として欠かせぬ位置を占めつつある。特にAmodeは病変の位置を正確に定位できる点より，Bmodeより価値のある場合も少なくない。著者もAmodeを用い，診断面で非常に有益な結果を得ているが，今回はその内特に興味深い2〜3の症例について報告し，あわせて著者の用いた眼内病変定位法を紹介する。

A new procedure of multidirectional A-mode ultrasonography is described for the better de-tection and localization of intravitreal and fun-dus lesions. The beam is directed at the poste-rior pole along 8 meridians of the eye at 3 angles (30°, 60°and 90°) each from the optical axis. With the addition of measurement along the axis, a total of 25 echograms are thus obta-ined. The present procedure facilitates a more concentrated coverage of the posterior vitreous and the fundus area behind the equator. A more exact description and consequently a more precise localization of echographic pathological lesion is made also possible.
