  • Look Inside

A-scan ultrasonic measurement of optical com-ponents along the axis was conducted in 126 normal eyes, 62 eyes with primary angle closure glaucoma and 48 eyes with simple glaucoma. A 15-Mliz sound head was employed along with the ultrasound equipments ZD-101 and ZD-251 of General Co., Japan.

The average value for the anterior chamber depth was significantly shallower and the lens thicker in angle-closure glaucoma than open-angle glaucoma. The average axial length of the eye-globe was shorter in angle-closure glaucoma than in open-angle glaucoma.
