緒言
交通事故による眼障害の統計的観察について，われわれは昭和35年より観察を行なつており，一部を報告したが5）6），今回昭和41年より44年までの4年間に東北大眼科を受診した交通外傷患者について，前回同様の統計的観察を行なつたので，その成績を報告する。なお交通外傷のさい，自動車のフロントガラスによる受傷例をいく例か経験しているので，これについても若干の考察を加えてみた。
対象は昭和41年1月1日より昭和44年12月31日までの4年間に，交通外傷が原因で当科外来を受診したもの合計284名である。
A statistical study was made on 284 patients by traffic accidents seen at the Department of Ophthalmology, Tohoku University, School of Medicine, between 1956 and 1969.
A statistical study on ocular injuries by a broken piece of front glasses of motor car was also made.
The results were as follows :
1) The patients by traffic accidents accounted for 1.1% out of the patients between 1966 and 1969.
Ocular injuries accounted for 64.4% out of the patients by traffic accidents.
2) The highest incidence was observed bet-ween 20 and 29 years of age. The incidence was 82% in male and 18% in female.
