Five cases of contusion injury due to soccer ball were reported.
Vitreo-retinal hacmorrhage was seen in all cases. Four cases had retinal holes. Location of retinal breaks was in the macula (3 cases) and upper temporal equator (2 cases) one case had retinal tears in both area. Equatorial holes were large oval in shape and associated with retinal detachment. Management of retinal deta-chment was done successfully by diathermy and light coagulation using scleral buckling.
Four cases had angle recession.
Prognosis of visual acuity was poor in the cases that had macular involvement.
