I．序

　網膜血管径の計測については三国教授を中心とする新潟大学の一連の業績，Lobeck （1936），Badtke （1937），Jütte （1963）らの報告をみるにすぎない。

　著者は正常群，糖尿病群，妊娠腎群，脳出血群の網膜血管径を計測し，網膜中心動脈血圧，網膜血流量，血圧との関係を検討し報告した。

1) Caliber measurements of major retinal vessels were conducted through analysis of fundus photographs in color documented by Mamiya fundus camera.

In 71 cases of diabetes mellitus and in 15 ca-ses with past history of apoplexy, the retinal arteries were found to be significantly narro-wer than 24 normal controls. No significant ca-liber differences were present between groups according to Wagener (from stage 0 to IV). The retinal veins showed no significant diffe-rences between cases with diabetes mellitus and normal controls.
