I．緒言
Scan intensity modulated ultrasonography はBaum, G＆Greenwood，Ⅰにより，はじめて眼科領域にとり入れられ1），isolated time amplitude ultra—sonographyより検者の技量差，主観差が介入する率が少なく，Purnell, E． W．＆Sokollu A2）とともに臨床的応用価値が高いことを報告している3）。
箸者らも1963年に15Mc 5mmφ水晶振動子を使用して，眼部断層法を試みた4）が，実用化にほど遠かつた。次の諸点を克服しなければならなかつたためである。
Author previously reported on the effects of diagnostic Ultrasound in Ophthalmology by me-ans of B-scan in 1963. At that time its utility value for diagnostic method, resulting from re-peated diagnostic examination, has proved to be satisfactory of scan method. In this report, author will discuss only the problems that he has faced during five years he has studied.
The ultrasonic equipment, developed by The General Corp., used in this examination was sector scan.
