I．緒言
Duane症候群の手術については，すでにこの疾患が記載された前世紀から，種々試みられてきてはいるが，いずれもごく少数例の経験に基づくものばかりであり，多数例についての検討は行なわれていない。
最近3年間に，私どもは異型例を含む17例のDuane症候群の手術を行ない，現時点における治療方針を確立した。同時に，筋移植法の方法に若干の改良を加えた新しい術式を考案し，それによつて効果をあげたので，その手術方法を，Duane症候群の治療方針とあわせて報告しておきたいと思う。
Surgical operations were performed during the last three years on 17 cases of paradoxical inner-vations, 12 patients of them were Duane's retrac-tion syndrome and 5 were atypical types, and the successful results were obtained.
The authors reported the principle of the surgi-cal operation for the Duane's retraction syndrome. The method of the operation was as follows :
1) In cases of orthophoria in primary position, the surgical operation was inapplicable.
