後天性に発症したと思われる固定内斜視7例を報告した。6例は片眼，1例は両眼が極度に内転した状態に固定され，運動不能で他動的にも外転が不可能であった。本態は内直筋の強い伸展障害，外直筋のEMGが正常，術後外転可能となる症例のあることから，眼窩鼻側内直筋部の異常が主因で，視力障害による両眼視異常，強度近視による眼軸長延長が誘因ではないかと推定した。
手術として内直筋後転および外直筋前転をまず行い，不十分な場合は上下直筋移動を追加し好結果を得た。
We evaluated 7 cases of strabismus fixus of postnatal development. The condition was unilateral in 6 cases and unilateral in 1. The affected eyes were firmly fixed in a position of extreme adduction. All outward movements were absent.
These cases manifested common findings during the after surgery. Electromyogram of the lateral rectus muscles was normal. Surgery enabled the affected eyes to become abducted. Medial rectus muscles were insufficiently elastic during surgery.
These findings led us to assume that the strabismus fixus resulted from abnormalities in orbital portion along the medial rectus muscle.
