I．緒言

　当教室では既に石川が，昭和15年より24年に至る満10年間の金大眼料に於ける網膜剥離患者168名，181眼についての統計的観察を行い，その成績を発表しているが，その後，網膜剥離患者は，益々増加の傾向を示し，一方これに対する治療法にも，幾多の新工夫が加えられて来た。近年，我々もその2,3を取入れているので，上記の石川の報告以後の成績をみるため，昭和25年1月より昭和38年12月迄の満14年間に，当科外来を訪れた本症患者685名，715眼につき，統計的観察を試みたので，その結果をここに報告する次第である。

A report is presented over the retinal de-tachment cases treated at the authors' clinic during the last 14 years (1950~1963).

715 eyes of 685 patients were involved, amounting to 1.4% of all outpatients during the same period. A description is given over the rate of occurrence, predilection as to sex or age, profession of patients, laterality of the involved eye, state of refraction, etiolo-gical factor, state of intraocular pressure, nature of the retinal holes and duration of the disease. In 4.4% of the cases an increase of intraocular pressure of more than 25mmHg was noted.
