I．はじめに

　最近3歳児は小児科・児童心理・児童精神医学などから注目されだしてきた。「三つ子の魂百まで」といわれているように，3歳児は身体的・精神的発達の著るしい時期である。筆者はこの3歳児の視力を9ヵ月間にわたつて，3ヵ月ごとに測定してみたので，その成績を述べようと思う。

With the use of the Snellen's Hook (Inoue's Hook), ophthalmological investigations weremade over the binocular visual acuity among 200 childen at 3 years of age every 3 monthes for a period of 9 monthes. The investigations indicated that the mean value of visual acuity was 0.53 at the initial examination, 0.72 atthe second, 0.77 at the third and 0.82 at the last. It is apparent from the results that vi-sual acuity has significantly improved from 0.52 to 0.82 concurrently with mental develo-pment.
