眼とTVの関係に関する研究—Horizontal Saccadic Eye Movementの解析による疲労の評価の方法について

Studies on the relationship between eye and TV viewing. : A method of estimating eye fatigue by means of recording of the horizontal saccadic eye movement

I．まえがき

　本邦におけるTVの普及には，目覚ましいものがあり，現在，TV受信可能地域は全国の略々90％に達し，受像機の普及台数は1600万台に達しているという。かかる現状からみて，眼とTV視聴との関係は，種々の点から検討を要することは言うまでもない。眼に対するTVの影響の問題をはじめとして，正しいTVの見方の検討，更には眼の機構に適した，あるいは眼のために好ましい受像機の開発に対する示唆，またTV視聴の実態の把握等，多くの課題がある。眼科学領域においても，すでに幾多の調査，研究がみられるが，著者^1）もTV視聴の視機能に及ぼす影響につき検討を行い，その結果を発表してきた。今回は，三洋電機株式会社の協力により行つた，TV視聴の際の眼の疲労に関する実験の結果を報告する。

The state of ocular fatigue due to television viewing was studied from an analysis of induced horizontal saccadic movemets of the eye recorded cinematographically. The in-crease in frequency of incorrect fixation after TV viewing for one hour served as indicator for the fatigue.

Studies with TV viewer of 19, 16, 12, 8 and 5 inches indicated, when the distance between the subject and the viewed image was set at 7 times of the diameter of the image, for the eye fatigue to become less with the larger TV viewer.
