I．まえがき

　眼球の穿孔性外傷や眼内手術後におこる上皮の前房内迷入乃至侵入並びに増殖は，一つのclini—cal entityとして，既に古くから知られている（Mackenzie 1885, von Graefe, A．1866）。しかし，これには3型があり，それぞれ，臨床像，経過，予後にはつきりとした差異があるので，文献的考察，統計などをおこなう上で充分，このことを考慮にいれなければならない。Perera （1938）^1）はつぎのように分類している。

（1）"pearl"tumors of the iris，（2） post—traumatic cysts of the iris，（3） epithelizationof the anterior chamber．　（3）が　epithelialdowngrowthに相当するものである。Maume—neeら（1956）^2）も，（1） epithelial pearl tumoror cyst of iris，（2） epithelial downgrowth，（3） epithelial cystの3つに分けており，これらを綜括してepithelial invasion of the an—terior chamberという名称をもちいている。

Seven cases complicated by epithelial downgrowth after cataract extraction were presented. Two cases out of them were compelled to enucleation and the findings were histologically verified.

Clinical evidence of edithelization was first observed between 10 days and 15 months after operation and most of these cases werefound to be accompanied with various compli-cations during or/and after extraction.

X-ray was applied in five cases, three of which were very successfully treated.
