I．緒言

　特異的なSunflower Cataractaの名で知られる眼球銅症は，眼球鉄錆症の頻度に比較して少いものであるが，その症状及び予後は，鉄錆症より更に重篤なものを示す疾患である。

　即ち受傷後間もなく無菌的化膿性炎症を惹起するか，或は後に至つて眼球銅症を生じ，出羽氏¹松永氏等^2）佐野氏等^3）の報告の如く比較的幸運な経過を辿る例も稀にあるが，多くは失明に至るのが普通である。

An eyeball injured by copper 30 days ago was investigated histopathologically. The yellowish-brown granula connected to copper were noticed in the parenchym of iris, schle-mm's canal and the surface of retina, and the oedema were observed in the ganglioncell layer and external plexiform layer of retina. It was presumed that these disturbances of retina were attacked from the inner limiting membrane of retina.
