（16）偏側性眼瞼開閉不能の発生機転に就て

Etiology of inability of closing eye separately. right and/or left.

　両眼共眼を開けているとき，右又は左の偏側丈を閉ぢようとしても出来ないものを偏側性閉瞼不能と言い，両眼共眼を閉ぢているとき右又は左の偏側丈を開けようとしても出来ないものを偏側性開瞼不能と言う。両者を総称して偏側性眼瞼開閉不能と言う。而して一眼の閉瞼不能の場合は他瞼の開瞼不能であるので，この両者は同一のものであり唯運動を起さんとする直前の状態が前者は開眼の状態であり，後者は閉眼の状態に過ぎないのである。本症はその不全型を入れると意外に多いもので木谷が調査した偏側性閉瞼不能の発現率は被検者591人中右眼のみにみられたものは67人（11.3％），左眼のみにみられたものは25人（4.2％），両眼にみられたものは24人（4.1％）で総計116人（19.6％）の多きに上つている。本症は馬，犬，猫，家兎等の動物にはみられない。然らば本症の発生機転は如何にと言うに，之に関する2，3の学説（小口氏大正9年，荘司氏昭和5年，武内，横田氏等昭和28年等）はあるも何れも承認しがたい。私共は本症の発生機転を考究するために先ず本症と利眼，利手，視力等との関連性を追究していくうちに解剖学的見地から1つの仮説を考え出した。そこで私共の説を図によつて説明する。

Among 591 normal cases, 67 weae unable to close the right eye, 25 the left eye, and 24 the right and left eye without accompanied by a closure of the second eye. The relation between the inability and the principal eye, handedness and vision was followed and the following hypothesis was proposed by the authors. They considered the etiology to be an enormously developed non-cross fibres in the path of facial nerve in the course from the cortical to the subcortical centre.In case of inability to close the right eye by itself, for exmple (fig. 1, b), there might be an enormous development of noncross fibres of the facial nerve in the opposite side.
