Abstract. Purpose:To report the usefulness to relocate the site of infusion during 25-gauge vitrectomy. Cases and Method:This retrospective study was made on 15 cases that received vitrectomy during the past 6 months and that needed shifting the site of infusion from inferior-temporal to superior-temporal quadrant in order to treat peripheral lesions. The series comprised diabetic retinopathy 11 eyes and rhegmatogenous retinal detachment 4 eyes. Results:Relocation of site of infusion resulted in safe treatment of peripheral lesions in all the eyes. This technique reduced insult to the site of surgical wound, induced better closure of the wound, and prevented postoperative ocular hypotony. Conclusion:Relocation of the site of infusion during vitrectomy results in safe treatment of peripheral lesions.
