過去5年間に東京医科大学健診センターを初回受診した23,177人を対象として，正常眼圧緑内障の有病率を検索した。このうち16,522人が40歳以上で，平均年齢は46.4歳であった。まず眼底写真をもとに乳頭縁の血管屈曲とノッチングから正常眼圧緑内障の偽陽性者を選んだ。これらをさらに眼科で精査した結果，40歳以上の者のうち2.52％が正常眼圧緑内障であった。この頻度は2003年の多治見スタディでの3.6％よりも低値である。眼底所見で乳頭縁の血管屈曲がある全例に視野異常があった。健診で正常眼圧緑内障を発見するには，乳頭縁の血管屈曲とノッチングが有力な指標となると結論される。

We evaluated the prevalence of normal-tension glaucoma（NTG）by reviewing 23,177 persons who visited our health check-up center during the past 5-year period. This series comprised 16,522 persons who were aged 40 years or older, average 46.4 years. NTG was suspected when fundus photographs showed pathological bending of vessels（bayoneting）or notching at the disc margin. Further ophthalmological led to the diagnosis of NTG in 2.52％ of persons aged 40 years or over. All the eyes showing bayoneting had abnormal visual field. The findings show that bayoneting and notching of vessels at the disc margin are useful indicators for NTG in health check-up program.
