　サルの扁桃体および海馬から線条体への入力線維を逆行性トレーサーを用いて解析した。Calbindin-D28 kを用いた免疫染色法を用いて腹側線条体を内側部，側坐核の中心部，辺縁部さらに外側部に分け，これらの領域にトレーサーを注入した。腹側線条体の内側部および辺縁部にトレーサーを注入した例では，陽性に染色された神経細胞が扁桃体および海馬に多く存在した。扁桃体での陽性細胞は主に基底核の小細胞部（Bpc）および大細胞部（Bmg）と副基底核の大細胞部（ABmg）に存在しており，副基底核小細胞部（ABpc）にはほとんど陽性細胞は認められなかった。海馬では，CA 3と海馬支脚の錐体細胞層（pyramidal cell layer）に主に陽性細胞が認められた。腹側線条体の外側部および中心部への注入例では，陽性細胞は前者と比較して扁桃体では少なく，海馬では陽性細胞は認められなかった。一方，背側線条体への注入例では，扁桃体および海馬の両者とも陽性細胞は認められなかった。以上より，腹側線条体の内側部はcalbindin-D28 k陰性の領域であるが，この領域はおそらく側坐核の辺縁部とそれ以外の腹側線条体領域との境界領域と考えられる。

The organization of the striatal afferent fibers from the amygdaloid complex and hippocampal formation was studied in the monkey with particular emphasis on specific projections of the ventral striatum. Retrograde tracers were injected into the different regions of the ventral (limbic) striatum and dorsolateral (sensorimotor) striatum. Labeled neurons were observed in the various regions of the amygdaloid complex and hippocampal formation.
