I．まえがき

　脳神経外科的疾患患者を診療するにあたつて，悪心・嘔吐を主訴として来診する患者は，頭痛とならんできわめて多く，これらの症状の原因が何であれ対症的療法の必要にせまられることが非常に多い。

　従来，悪心・嘔吐の治療法には，抱水クロラール，蓚酸セリウム，抗ヒスタミン剤からphenothiazine誘導体にいたる各種の薬剤が使用されてきたが，なかでもper—azine系のprochlorperazineは向精神作用とともに鎮吐作用も顕著であり，最近は頑固な悪心。嘔吐に対して，好んで用いられてきている。

Clinical antiemetic effects of thiethylperazine dimaleate, a new antiemitics, were scrutinized on 46 patients in our clinic. This drug was administered orally or intravenously, therapeutically or prophy-lactically, for treatment of nausea, vomiting and vertigo associated with neurosurgical patients such as pre- or post operative brain tumour, head injury, Ménièr's syndrome and PEG procedure.

Clinical evaluation of thiethylperazine dimaleate has revealed excellent supression of vomiting and paucity of side effects indicative of an effective and well tolerated antiemetic. Undesirable side effect such as spasmodic torticollis, dystonic synptom was caused by overdose (30~50mg/day).
