序言
顔面特に耳を中心とした部位の発作性の激烈な疼痛を主徴とする一疾患に中間神経痛（Clark ＆ Taylor）4）がある。
本疾患は疼痛発作の頻発，疼痛の激烈さ及び疼痛発来部位の特異性より古くから多くの研究者により注目され，多数の研究業績が報告されている。
A 17-years-old female was admitted to our clinic, with the chief complaint of severe Pa-roxysmal pain in the right ear. Examination revealed only a small area of hypesthesia and hypalgesia in the right periauricular region. Similar pain with the same localization was obtained by the stimualtion of right inter-medius nerve during the operation under local anesthesia. Section of the right intermedius nerve was successful for the relief of pain.
The patient was followed for about three years postoperatively and she is still free from pain and is in good health.
