序言

　1934年気脳撮影によつて患者の生存中に本症と診断し得た3例をDavidoff，＆　Dyke^3）が世界で初めて報告した。これとは別に同年Hyndman，＆　Penfield^{2）4）10）11）}も同様の2例について記載している。以来本症は逐次その数を増し今日では世界に50〜60の報告例がある。

　我が国では患者が生きている間に本症と診断されたという例は今日までのところまだ記載されていない。わずかに4〜5例の解剖時に発見されたというものだけがある^{6）7）9）13）}。従つてここに述べる著者等の症例は生存中に診断された我が国最初の報告であると考えられる。

The authors reported one case of agenesis of the corpus callosum. Probably, this case is the first reported case in Japan which was diagnosed during life by pneumoence-phalography, because it seems to be reported only 5 cases found at necropsy yet.

A 40 day-old baby (male) came to the Clinic in February 1960. His mother remarked nothing except the deformity of his head.

Physical and neurologic examination gave almost normal results except atrophy of the right papilla nervi optici.

Electroencephalography suggested the con-vulsive seizures and the atrophy of the right hemispher.

In the pneumoencephalogram, 4 of 7 charac-teristic changes as indicated by Davidoff & Dyke were recognized. Those features appear to be sufficiently useful to make possible the establishment of this diagnosis.
