要旨●2006年に大腸カプセル内視鏡（CCE）が発表され，本邦では2014年より保険適用となっている．潰瘍性大腸炎（UC）においては，粘膜治癒の重要性が報告されているが，CCEは，嚥下するだけの検査であるため，非侵襲的に腸粘膜の観察が可能であり，病変部位が大腸に限定されるUCにおいては，このCCEの適用がまず考えられる．本稿では，UCの炎症評価，粘膜治癒評価におけるCCEの現況について概説し，実際の症例画像提示を行いながらその有用性を述べていく．

　In Japan, CCE（colon capsule endoscopy）was introduced in 2006 and has been covered by health insurance since 2014. This endoscopic examination is involves a small wireless camera that allows noninvasive observation of the intestinal mucosa. Because of the importance of mucosal healing in UC（ulcerative colitis）, both capsule endoscopy and the use of CCE are considered for cases in which the lesion site is limited to the colon. This section provides an overview of the current status of CCE for evaluation of inflammation and mucosal healing in UC, and its significance is discussed in context of actual cases with endoscopic images.
