Motorized Spiral Enteroscopy

要旨●新たなコンセプトの小腸内視鏡としてスパイラル内視鏡（spiral enteroscopy）が2008年にAkermanらによって発表された．このスパイラル内視鏡を電動化した内視鏡がパワースパイラル内視鏡（motorized spiral enteroscopy ; MSE）である．パワースパイラル内視鏡は，ディスポーザブルの螺旋状フィンを有するオーバーチューブをスコープに装着し，オーバーチューブを電動で回転させ腸管を手繰り寄せるようにしながら挿入する．本邦では，まだ導入初期であるが，欧米からはいくつかの報告があり，高い挿入性能が報告されている．

　Spiral enteroscopy is a new concept of endoscope that was first reported by Akerman et al. in 2008. The MSE（motorized spiral enteroscopy）is a motorized spiral endoscope with an overtube with disposable spiral fins attached to the scope and is inserted by motorized rotation of the overtube as if the intestinal tract is being pleated. The MSE is still in its early stages of introduction in Japan ; however, several reports presented from Western countries show high insertion performance.
