Ⅰ．症例

　患者：田○範○　61歳　男　会社員

　家族歴：父が61歳で胃癌で死亡．他に特記すべきものなし．

　既往歴：18歳のとき肺浸潤で1年間休む．37歳のとき肺炎．5～6年前，某病院で胃透視をうけ胃炎と診断されたが，特に治療は受けなかった．

　主訴：外来初診時には自覚症状なし．

　A case of leiomyoma of the stomach, growing from the anterior wall of a region from lower part of the corpus to the angulus, was observed in a 61 years old male. The size of the tumor was 40×32 mm with a height of 20 mm shaped like a dumbbell.

　By fiuoroscopy and endoscopy the mucosal folds appeared to run continuously over the tumor (bridging folds). Furthermore, the fact that the color of the mucous membrane in the part of the tumor was not different from that of the surrounding area was observed endoscopically. These findings are of major importance in the differentiation of this tumor from gastric polyp.
