要旨　十二指腸乳頭部（乳頭部）の解剖，乳頭部腺腫，乳頭部腺癌につき自験例を含め臨床病理学的事項を概説した．また，最近報告例の増えてきた早期乳頭部癌，無黄疸乳頭部癌について論じ，臨床上良悪性の鑑別診断で重要な乳頭部腫瘍の生検の問題点につき言及した．

　The resectability of ampullary carcinoma is higher than that of carcinoma of the head of the pancreas and distal bile duct and the clinical outcome of ampullary carcinoma is more favorable. In the present review, anatomy of the papilla of Vater, and clinicopathology of ampullary adenoma and carcinoma were overviewed. Early ampullary carcinoma and non-icteric ampullary carcinoma were also discussed referring to the problems about endoscopic biopsy of ampullary tumors.
