要旨　食道表在癌に対するX線スクリーニングの有用性の評価を目的に，1995年5月から導入してきた食道・胃同時集検における検診成績を検討した．食道癌発見率は0.10％，表在癌率は92.7％と高率であった．対象を55歳以上の男性に集約し，DR撮影装置を導入した2007年4月以降の成績は，食道癌発見率0.24％，表在癌率100％とより成績の向上を認めた．対象を集約した食道・胃同時集検を全国的に展開できれば，より多くの食道表在癌を拾い上げることができ，食道癌全体の予後，QOLの改善に貢献できる可能性が示された．

　A medical examination record of the esophagogastric synchronic mass survey examination introduced from May,1995 for the purpose of the evaluation of the utility of radiological screening against superficial carcinomas of the esophagus was examined. The discovery rate for esophageal carcinomas was 0.10, and for superficial carcinomas the rate was 92.7which is a high rate. The objects of the evaluation were males 55 years of age and over. after April,2007 when a DR（digital radiography）photography device was introduced the discovery rate was 0.24 for esophageal carcinoma and 100 for superficial carcinomas which shows improvement.

　This shows that if the esophagogastric synchronic mass survey could be developed nationwide, more superficial carcinomas of the esophagus could be picked up, and this could make a contribution to the overall prognosis for esophageal cancer and the improvement of QOL.
