急性期に合併した細菌感染症に対する治療のみで軽快した薬剤性過敏症症候群

・カルバマゼピン内服によって生じた薬剤性過敏症症候群（drug-induced hypersensitivity syndrome：DIHS）を経験した．

・急性期合併症として肺炎，外耳道炎，菌血症があり，感染症により抗菌薬を投与したところ速やかにDIHSが改善した．

The patient was a 57-year-old male who was examined for a skin rash and fever after administration of carbamazepine (CBZ)for post-traumatic epilepsy, and because of liver dysfunction, eosinophilia, lymph node enlargement, human herpes virus (HHV)-6 reactivation, and the persistence of the liver dysfunction even after the drug was discontinued, we made a diagnosis of drug-induced hypersensitivity syndrome(DIHS). After treating the patient with an antibiotic because he was found to have pneumonia, he rapidly improved. We concluded that when DIHS is complicated by an infection, it is necessary to treat the infection first before performing steroid therapy.
