小児領域の画像診断において，特に消化管に関しては今なお，腹部単純X線と超音波検査の組み合わせで大まかな診断の予想をつけ，必要に応じて消化管造影検査を行うというのが主流である。また，腸重積においては診断から連続して整復に移行するため，整復の手順を含め，概説する。

In pediatric imaging, particularly with regard to the gastrointestinal tract, the mainstream approach is still to combine plain abdominal X-rays and ultrasound examinations to make a rough diagnosis, and then perform gastrointestinal contrast studies as necessary. Since reduction is typically performed immediately following the diagnosis of intussusception, this section provides an overview of the reduction procedure, including its steps.
