水痘帯状疱疹ウイルス（Varicella-Zoster virus：VZV）は初感染後に後根神経節に潜伏し，再活性時にRamsay-Hunt症候群（RHS）や下位脳神経障害といった多彩な神経症状を引き起こす事が一般的に知られている^1-9）。

今回我々は，VZVによる多発脳神経炎に対し，病変検出において造影3D-FLAIR像が有用であった症例を経験したので，若干の文献的考察を含めて報告する。

We report a case of a female in her 60’s presented with lower cranial polyneuritis caused by VZV. Contrast-enhanced T1-weighted images and contrast-enhanced 3D variable-refocusing-flip-angle fast-spin-echo fluid attenuated inversion recovery（3D-FLAIR）images showed enhancement of left lower cranial nerves. Furthermore, 3D-FLAIR images showed linear enhancement of left vagus nerve which continues to extracranial region. We consider that contrast-enhanced 3D-FLAIR image can play an important role in detecting lower cranial nerves lesions.
