Traumatic thoracic aortic injury is a life-threatening event and needs emergency treatment.

Blunt aortic injury (BAI) is one of the major traumatic aortic injuries and is the second most common cause of death due to non-penetrating trauma. Most of the BAI patients die before reaching the hospital. Patients who survive until hospital arrival might be salvageable, however, multiple injuries can progress to lethal aortic rupture without definitive treatment. We present 4 cases of BAI, who successfully treated by stent graft repair in 2 cases and open surgical repair in 2 cases. We highlighted the key point of BAI including the diagnosis, timing of the surgery, types of surgery and risk scoring.
